SKATEPARK : ROOM REVIEW

When the School & Skate Party was announced, we were told that a new Skatepark room would be making it's debut as a new permanent room.

I seriously had my doubts about the new addition to the island as it seemed a bit pointless to have a Skatepark. But when the party started, I was pleasantly surprised...

I had a few doubts about this room before the party started : Where would it be placed? Would it replace another room? Would it be interesting?

Placement

The entrance to the room is to the right of the mine shack building which is great because it won't affect the community garden. The community garden has a lot of memories for me which was previously in the Mine Shack Room before the University was added. With the community garden not gone, Saraapril will have 1 less thing to complain about, we all know how much she loves protecting the environment :)

Design and Interaction

The room's design surprised me a lot! Instead of just using boring grey skate ramps, they are actually decorated with graffiti which brings much more life to the room and therefore making it more interesting. There is also plenty of interaction in the room as there are 3 areas where penguins can skate (marked with the arrows). The arrows are a great feature because when you click on an arrow and you are wearing a skateboard item, your penguin will do a cool skateboarding feature which makes the room realistic. It is more fun watching your penguin practise skateboarding tricks rather than walking up and down the ramps which is boring and not realistic!

Catalog

Hopefully, after the School & Skate party ends, there will be catalog available in this room just like the one in the Cove with surfboards but with skateboards in this room. Right now when you click where the catalog could be, you are taken to the party menu. I expect there will be a catalog because without skateboards for sale, how else will penguins be able to use this room in the future?

Future

I don't think there is anything more Club Penguin could do to add to this room. However, I think it would be great if this room was decorated for parties! The graffiti could change for each party with a different design eg. a Halloween themed design for the Halloween Party 2014!

In Conclusion

This room exeeded my expectations. It allows lots of interaction and role play in the room instead of the usual waddling around. It has potential to be decorated in the future unlike newly added rooms eg. Puffle Park. Although I think it should remain a party room, I don't mind it staying after the party anymore because it is quite enjoyable. But will it lose popularity after the party finishes? Who knows.

Let me know what you think of the Skatepark in the comments!

  1. This room will get boring in the long term. CP missed some opportunities here (e.g. making it more than just a skatepark).
